Join us at 273 Lafayette Street on Thursday, October 17th for ‘Sounds of Kenny’ – a celebration of the Kenny Scharf capsule collection in true Axel Arigato style—bringing people together and sharing our love for music.
Kenny Scharf was a key figure in the 1980s East Village art scene, is known for his vibrant, pop-culture-inspired works that blend street art with fine art, and an influence in the emerging contemporary art circle. As New York embodies the essence of Scharf, we bridged the gap to Kenny's musical spirit - ‘Sounds of Kenny’ will be an immersive night of music, turning our store into a vibrant music hub featuring local vinyl DJs and musicians that connect to his universe.
To curate a musical program that reflects an authentic experience to both Kenny and New York, we've partnered with Public Records - a multi-functional space and platform that houses sonic and cultural programming. Public Records has a diverse community of musicians, producers and wider creatives, a few of who will join us during 'Sounds of Kenny'.
Enhancing the night, Devon Turnbull's OJAS speakers will deliver an unparalleled, immersive sound experience.
